GENERAL UPDATES
Just a quick reminder above that the ‘Annual Dinner 2025’ hosted by President John Bolger is just 3 weeks away (Friday 28 Feb), so please book early for what promises to be another memorable night in our fantastic clubhouse.
So after the great All-Ireland Jnr Cup win, Bective travel northside to Suttonians on Saturday for Round 12 of the Leinster League Div 1. This is the first of 2 critical matches in February that may well define the destination of the League, before our final match away to Tullow on Sat March 1st. Bective remain League leaders by 5 points over Seapoint who we play on Saturday week in Donnybrook. Suttonians have proved time and again on home soil that they are a match for any team and are celebrating their centenary this season, so expect a large home support out in Sutton on Saturday. The Bective squad are currently on a fantastic run of form and will be up for another massive contest so again, let’s ensure that we not only match our opponents on the pitch but also on the touchline too.
Always remember your support is key to the team’s success.
WEEKEND SCHEDULE
Under 20’s
Hard luck to the squad as they went down fighting in a tight contest over in Malahide RFC to the Vikings (Malahide, Suttonians & Coolmine), 17 - 10.
U20s do not have a fixture this weekend.
Next fixture: Bective v Wicklow RFC (A) on Sunday, February 16th, KO 3PM.
Walk on the Wild Mountain Side
The rescheduled 14th Annual Memorial Walk took place on bank holiday Monday, 3rd February. Departing from Johnny Fox’s Pub at 9am the 14 hardy walkers arrived back at Donnybrook (Bective Rangers FC) all in one piece for their well-earned brunch around 1pm.
Ladies Charity Lunch 2025
The Ladies Lunch is on Sat 29th March 2025 at 2.30pm in the Clubhouse, Donnybrook in support of Women's Aid.
Tickets are €60 each and include a glass of prosecco upon arrival, 4 course lunch, raffle & DJ.

Membership Books 2024/2025
Paid up members have collected their Membership Books and any that weren’t collected have been posted out to members.
If you haven’t paid your membership fee for this season, it’s not too late to do it now. Subscriptions are the most important revenue for the ongoing running of our club. See link below………

BECTIVE MEN’S SHED
The ‘Bective Men’s Shed’ is for those retired members who can give an hour or two on a Thursday to devote to maintenance and development of our premises and for a meet up for tea/coffee. We are keen to develop the rear of the pavilion so that it can be used during the summer months for outside eating/drinking and the group are currently working on this project. The Men’s Shed meets on Thursdays at 12 noon in the clubhouse.
