GENERAL UPDATES
A great win away to early season League contenders Suttonians on Saturday ensured Bective 1XV stay top of the league by 4 points from Seapoint after Round 12. The players showed all their battling qualities to fend off a resurgent Suttonians and run out 6 point victors. All the focus now turns to Donnybrook on Saturday for Round 13 of the League. This means Saturday’s clash with Seapoint will be a decisive showdown for the League title. The squad are on a fantastic run of form so let’s ensure we have our biggest crowd of the season in Donnybrook by turning up on Saturday to support Mattie, Tiarnan, Ben and the players.
Final Score: Suttonians 17 – Bective 23
Special mention to the 2XV , 3XV, all winning their matches and the 4XV taking all the points also, so another good weekend for all the Bective players.
2XV – Won 40 - 0 away against Suttonians in Leinster Seconds League Division 1A.
3XV – Won 34 -23 away against Emerald Warriors RFC in Round 9 of Metro League Div 8.
4XV – Guinness conceded fixture, points awarded to Bective.
U20s – No fixture.

3XV play at home against Railway Union RFC in round 10 of Metro League Div 8 on Saturday Feb 15 @ 3pm. *This match may be played at a neutral venue.
4XV play away against Newbridge RFC in Round 12 of Metro League Div 11 on Saturday Feb 15 @ 3pm.

Bective Vets vs Old Wesley
The vets are playing on Friday 21st February 2025 @ 20:00 against Old Wesley, with a meet time of 19:00, all spectators welcome and any registered Bective players who qualify (or thereabouts) to play.
Mini’s & Youths
U6/U7 - HOME We had 130 kids on the main pitch and half the back pitch with teams from Blackrock and Westmanstown on Sunday both under 6 and under 7. The coaching teams had all teams organised and briefed so it ran like clockwork. They all had a great time and enjoyed being in the clubhouse afterwards. All the Bective teams represented the club superbly.
U8 - AWAY DLSP - The U8's made their way up to DLSP on Sunday where they played some superb rugby competing really well. Jamie Martin-Smith and Neil Pickard the head coaches have the squad really organised and have developed well over the season.
U10's - AWAY Suttonians - The U10's played in Sutton on Sunday. Tommy Sheehy's squad competed well against a tough opposition in Sutton but continued their development with some solid tackling and some great tries scored.
U11's HOME Malahide - The U11's were home to Malahide on Sunday. Having played them away already this round of matches did not disappoint. Some really strong tackling and some great tries once again saw Bective U11's compete and come out on top.
U12's HOME Gorey - The U12's performed brilliantly on Sunday against tough opposition in Gorey. They tackled superbly against a big Gorey squad and scored some brilliant tries.
U13's AWAY Clontarf - The U13's had a super win in the first round of the cup versus Clontarf. Some brilliant performances from a small matchday squad saw some super tries being scored. Rian O'Callaghan at centre was devastating with ball in hand and hooker Noah Gaughran got over for his first try of the season.
U14's AWAY Ashbourne - Our U14 team which has amalgamated with Lansdowne had a super win on Sunday out in Ashbourne. They eventually came out 21 - 17 on top - This was a huge win and leaves them second in the table. The top 2 will be in the final of the league so let's get out and support them in their final 2 matches.

Ladies Charity Lunch 2025
The Ladies Lunch is on Sat 29th March 2025 at 2.30pm in the Clubhouse, Donnybrook in support of Women's Aid.
Tickets are €60 each and include a glass of prosecco upon arrival, 4 course lunch, raffle & DJ.

BECTIVE MEN’S SHED
The ‘Bective Men’s Shed’ is for those retired members who can give an hour or two on a Thursday to devote to maintenance and development of our premises and for a meet up for tea/coffee. We are keen to develop the rear of the pavilion so that it can be used during the summer months for outside eating/drinking and the group are currently working on this project. The Men’s Shed meets on Thursdays at 12 noon in the clubhouse.
